New Orleans photographer, Sandra Russell Clark, is an internationally
recognized talent in the photographic community. Her work has appeared
in numerous magazines including Vogue, The Traveler, Southern Accents,
and American Artist. She is the author of the award winning fine art book," Elysium, A Gathering of Souls”, on New Orleans historic
cemeteries. Her images are included in numerous museum, corporate and
private collections.

VENICE, ITALY - AN INTIMATE JOURNEY
- MAY 25-JUNE 1

When the time of departure comes, the impressions of Venice, which are
most lasting in the memory, is not that of its monuments or artistic
treasures but of the city and the lagoon itself. Accompany Sandra on an
intimate journey through Venice as she helps participants to develop their
own unique vision and ways in which to express this through their
photographs. Join Sandra on daily field trips and assignments to explore
the many charming neighborhoods and exquisite canals of Venice.

We will also make excursions to the neighboring islands of Burano,
known for its bright colored houses and lace, Torchello, a favorite
haunt of Hemingway, and the beautiful cemetery island of St. Michelle
with its lovely marble bas reliefs. A day in the country, lunch and ride
down the Brenta River to tour and photograph the magnificent villas will
also be scheduled.
Workshop fee for 7 days: $700 plus film and processing

TUSCANY - LAND OF SENSUAL BEAUTY - JUNE 11-18

Join Sandra, under the Tuscan sun, at one of the most beautiful times
of the year. Wildflowers in bloom, warm breezy days and cool nights
will lull you to sleep at night in this lovely little town of Lucignano
d’Asso just 45 minutes from Siena. In this 7 day workshop there will be
daily photographic trips to the near by towns of Pienza , Montalcino,
Montepulciano and Siena. We will explore the ancient towns, cathedrals,
open markets, vineyards and the lush sensual hillsides of this
breathtaking region. At night we will share wonderful local cuisine and
wine as we discuss our day's work and experiences. Sandra’s goal is to
help participants find the tools they need to make more personal and
expressive images.
Workshop fee for 7 days: $700 plus film and processing
Additional cost: Room and breakfast at Casa Francigena, the centuries
old farmhouse with breathtaking views, approx. $800 plus ground
transportation approx. $200.

Structure of Workshops
Sandra will help the participants develop the skills and knowledge to
work creatively as a photographer. There will be daily field trips and
assignments . Students will study quality of light, frame and
composition, depth and space, tonal range, and color and elements of
basic composition. Also participants will be asked to reflect on the
choices they make in photographing a subject and how their personal
experiences may influence their vision.
Each morning after breakfast the group will participate in informal
discussions, critiques and/or the aforementioned outings. Afternoons
will be free for exploring and shooting. Before dinner Sandra will be available
for one on one critiques or shooting session with students. Some evenings will be spent together as a group enjoying the
local cuisine and wines. Sandra's hope is that you will leave the
workshop with fond memories and new friends as well as the ability to
make more expressive images and a better understanding of how
photography can enrich your life.
